This video highlights the climate movement most notably in relation to highlighting local disaster footage, as well as climate activism in Santa Barbara, including activism from students at UCSB. The video starts off stating impactful climate facts and political denial, but then progresses to the appeal to emotion and activism in a more hopeful tone that shows the resilience and growing protectionist attitudes from citizens of Santa Barbara.

UCSB ENVIRONMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS

UCSB is a very active university in regards to environmental protection. They have a range of environmental organizations students can be a member/leader of that occupy every sector of environmental studies.

These organizations range from the Associated Students Bike Shop to the Department of Public Worms. Organizations at UCSB also have a heavy emphasis on organic food and student gardening, especially in relation to food security issues students face. Programs like this fall under the Isla Vista Food Co-op, the Edible Campus Program, and the Greenhouse and Garden project (42)

UCSB, along with the rest of the UC system, recently also made the commitment to fully divest from the fossil fuel industry (4), one of the largest moves amongst higher-education institutions in regards to clean energy and investment in alternative fuels.
